AMAZING ARTWORK from an AMAZING ARTIST! WOW!

beastpop:

Another commission for one of my favorite clients, FRIGHT-RAGS. It’s a design from one of my favorite fun horror movies, CREEPSHOW — specifically, the “They’re Creeping Up On You” segment that closes out the movie, wherein germophobe crank-meister extraordinaire Mr. Upson Pratt is plagued by swarms of roaches and meets a grisly end . This one was particularly fun to work on, though drawing all those roaches got to be a bit grueling at times.  ORDER HERE!

Inked, as usual, with watercolor brush and india ink with Photoshop colors.

Playing in Photoshop tonight and made a really cool warm color gradient.
Tried a random sketch of Batman over it. Nah.
Tried to do a rendering of Bea Arthur over it. Sorry, no Bea.
Then I ran across a cool shot from the first Alien film and decided to do a quick study of that as reference.
I rarely see these warm colors used in art or imagery from the first film (was very sickly yellow, cool dark contrast colors in the first).
So there ya have it: Some loose gestural linework and an up close image o’ Siggy looking spun outta control from Ridley Scott’s ALIEN!
Nitey nite!

The week seems like an uphill battle people.
A David vs. Goliath kinda feelin, ya know?
In my world, it’s a Chucky vs. Jason mentality.
Now THAT’S a VS. I wanna see. I would like to think Chuck could work Mr. Voorhees over and over again and bring that simple-minded behemoth to his rotted knees.
What’s your take?
Night sketch scanned into Photoshop for color-y goodness.

You tell ‘em, Sid.
Scream 4 (or SCRE4M) out today on DVD/Blu!!!I’ve already done my ceremonial watch the Blu then watch the DVD with commentary ritual tonight after work. All in all a decent film but some of that luster is gone from the original trilogy. You can tell that studio head strain affected the makers of this one.
Oh well, I get to see my characters again and this one was closer to the horror of the first film.
Quick Wacom sketch in Photoshop to commemorate my fave line from the new film. Played with the transform tools a lil’ this time around to bug out the finished image a tad.
